Wood Carver Allen Wiebe

Allen is a Calgary Alberta artist who has always loved working in metal and wood. His innovative industrial products sell world-wide and have brought him the prestigious Manning Award for innovative industrial design.

As a young boy Allen was given a painted model birch bark canoe from a native friend who’s father developed the “Woodland” style of art. Allen treasures the canoe to this day. It is this “Woodland” style that influences Allen’s wood relief carvings of exotic hardwoods and it is the marriage of wood and metal that results in the exquisite art of this Calgary artist.
